If you are unfamiliar with the hobby of miniature wargaming, it basically comes down to lonely overweight grown men with poor hygiene playing games with toy soldiers. More or less. ;)

These games run the gamut from Lord of the Rings to Starship Troopers, Ancient Rome to Vietnam, Dungeons & Dragons to the American Civil War. They can involve a single figure per player or hundreds, even thousands, of figures per side.

A main attraction to this type of hobby is the visceral appeal. Seeing armies of well painted figures set up on intricately designed gaming tables can be quite impressive.

While some prefer the strategy and competiton of the games, many focus on the miniatures themselves, spending ungodly amounts of time doing things such as highlighting pupils on figures less than 1 1/2 inches tall. God we're nerds.

Miniatures are very much a niche hobby. Not very many people take an interest in it. Even fewer people take an interest in poorly sculpted figures.
